As a general structural rule of thumb for domestic retaining walls up to 1.0 metre high, your in-ground footing depth should equal your above-ground retained wall height. For example, a 0.8m high wall requires 0.8m of the post buried in a concrete footing. Always consult a certified structural engineer for your specific site conditions.
Can I build a fence on top of these 100 UC and PFC steel posts?
Yes. We supply optional pre-drilled holes and pre-welded fence brackets. This allows you to easily bolt timber or Colorbond fence posts directly onto the top of your steel retaining wall posts, saving you time and retaining ground space.

suitable for walls over 1 metre high?
Our 100mm series (100 UC and 100 PFC) is strictly recommended for low-to-medium domestic retaining walls up to 1.0m high. For heavily surcharged walls, steep driveways, or walls exceeding 1.0m, you must consult engineer to decide the use of 100mm series or heavy-duty 150 UC series depending on complexity
